The summer month of June brings beauty, with wildflowers blossoming in the warm sunlight. The cheerful songs of birds can be heard in the early morning, and the evening breeze rustles through the leaves of the trees. All these elements combine to make June a delightful time of year.

JUNE so SOON???
Â
The beginning of June signifies the approach of summertime and we’re ready for a break! Albeit it’s a bit slower so we can enjoy kids being out of school, summer holidays, and the sunsets due to the long summer days.
Â
On May 9th Brentwood Chamber Director John Lawrence (Mass Mutual of Northern California) chaired the 4th Annual East Bay Business Expo and Job Fair - Â along with Chamber Directors Katie Brandt (Bill Brandt Ford), and Greg Robinson (The Press).Â
Â
The event drew people and businesses from all over Contra Costa and Alameda Counties and nearly all left with positive feedback. Â The Expo lets us highlight that Brentwood is both agriculturally rich and rich in talent from business owners to skilled professionals; thus promoting excellent opportunities for small business entrepreneurs to large-scale organizations. Â The Brentwood Chamber of Commerce is truly proud and delighted to bring the opportunity in collaboration with the City of Brentwood and its dignitaries to highlight our strengths and economic vitality!
Â
Additional events we held in May welcomed The Red Door Gift Shop, Tan Republic, and Dudum Real Estate. Â Today, we welcome another new business to Brentwood at a Ribbon Cutting this evening at Regenerative IV & Infusion Wellness Clinic. If you have not yet been to these businesses, be sure to stop in, say hello to welcome them, and learn how you might be able to partner with them in providing resources and connection as we continue to rise the tide that floats all boats! Â
Â
June’s Mixer is being hosted by Team Olga Sells, Corcoran Properties, and you’re going to want to register for this!! Â It’s the Flavors of First Street on June 15th and Olga Vidriales is working with her neighbors to bring a delicious event where we can enjoy beautiful summer evenings and deepen our connections through food and spirit! Â
Â
Lastly, who do you love? Â Let me clarify: Â Who do you love to do business with? Â Who do you think is just an invaluable member of Brentwood’s community? Â What non-profit organization is doing amazing things for this city that you’d like to shine a light on? Â And, is there a youth and a start-up business that is making life better and brighter? Â NOW IS THE TIME to nominate these people or organizations as the Chamber prepares for a GALA EVENT to Celebrate Brentwood! Â Chamber Director Tanya Aviles(Prestige Cleaning Services LLC) is the Chair for this year’s event where we, as a community, can recognize and celebrate a few special stars that make our city sparkle! Â The Oscar Style Gala will occur on July 30 at the Community Center. Â Be sure to submit your nominations and reserve your seat (or table) for this best-of-the-best occasion!
Â
Congratulations to all of the families celebrating graduates this year, and to our educators, administrators, and mentors who are enriching our city’s youth to become the leaders of tomorrow. Â
Â
Let’s take time to celebrate, connect, and cultivate what makes Brentwood better; which is working together to build business and community.

Celebration of Life: Steve Lopez-Todd
Â
Please join us as we celebrate the life of Steve Lopez-Todd: husband, father, son, veteran, soldier, police officer, neighbor, friend, and much more. Steve was a man of character who never missed an opportunity to help others. He always gave back to our community, and he made this a better place to live. Every life he touched was made better by Steve. Veterans held a special place in his heart, and he was always available to help, listen, and lend a hand to any veteran in need.Â
Â
We will honor Steve's amazing life on Saturday June 24th 11:00 AM at the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building, 757 1st street, Brentwood, CA. After the celebration of life, there will be a lunch provided in exchange for memories, smiles, laughter, and hugs. Let us all come together and commemorate the life of this amazing man.
Â
Steve Lopez-Todd was the commander of the VFW Post 10789 from 2009 to 2019. Steve was California Assembly District 11 California Veteran of the year in 2016. He was also a member of American Legion Post 202 and the Delta Diablo Marine Corps League Det.1155 and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 7. He was also the past Second Vice President of the Brentwood Lions Club.
