DESCRIPTION:OktoberFEST is the largest event sponsored by the Downtown Brentwood Coalition (DBC). The German Beer celebration caters to the age 21 and older crowds\, while the Dachshund Parade is enjoyed by all ages. A Kids-Zone is created for families with youngsters. \n\nThe Event - Saturday\, October 13\, 2018 1pm to 7pm\n\nLive musical entertainment\, with "Grand Isle Fire Brigade" (German strolling musicians) the "Floorshakers" (pop music) on stage from 4pm to 7pm\, jugglers\, balloon artists and more. German beers and wines celebrate the harvest\, and German specialty foods are abundant. Outfits of Lederhosen and Dirndl's are worn in respect of the European Heritage. Games are highlighted\, such as Beer Stein Hoisting and Beer Stein Obstacle Race. Most popular is the Dachshund "weiner dog" Parade\, with crazy\, silly dog costumes. A home-kegerator raffle prize is another highlight.\n\n\n\nOktoberFEST began in 2008 when recession-starved downtown searched for ways to bring more people to restaurants and shops. Nine years later\, with the Downtown business occupancy rate near 100%\, the OktoberFEST brings more than 5000 people to Downtown. This event is a lively\, action-packed event\, shared with friends and families.
